Teaching Approach

Tao teaches a holistic approach to yoga which primarily draws from the traditions of aṣṭāṅga yoga and haṭha yoga. Holistic means “wholeness” and is an approach in which the whole being is nourished and balanced through the integration physical, mental and spiritual self-development.

As well as learning the yoga postures (āsana) there is also an opportunity to learn about breathing techniques (prāṇāyāma), purification techniques (krīya), meditation (dharana and dhyana), deep relaxation (nidra) as well as the underlying philosophy of yoga.

A holistic approach encourages the yoga practitioner to adapt the techniques according to their unique individual requirements.

This approach to yoga is free from dogma and is accessible to everyone regardless of their age, flexibility, fitness or previous yoga experience.

Tao creates a space for yoga which is inclusive and non-competitive. He believes that yoga is a gradual process of contemplation in which flexibility and physical prowess are eclipsed by the greater purpose of acceptance and self-enquiry.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
